Natalia Olaya Casas

Junior Associate

Natalia is a lawyer and political scientist graduated from Universidad de los Andes. She joined MTA in 2022 as a junior associate for the Environmental Law area. Her experience before joining Muñoz Tamayo & Asociados focused mainly on advising non-governmental sustainable development organizations.​ Her main interest is environmental law, and she has been focused on this subject since her university internship at the Secretariat for the Application of Environmental Legislation (SALA). She also volunteered with the NGO Conservation International, working in the Oceans Program, and subsequently worked as a national consultant providing support in meeting the goals of protection and conservation of the ocean.​ ​She participated as co-writer of the Legal Framework for Aquaculture in Colombia, a book developed by Conservation International (CI) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).​ ​As a lawyer and political scientist, she tries to understand legal and power dynamics, seeking a balance between sustainable development and social analysis in any decision that is developed within the framework of the application and enforcement of the country's rules and laws.
