Hugo is a tax lawyer and accountant with more than 25 years of experience advising important companies in administrative, tax and labor law, he concentrates in tax planning and in the resolution of contentious-administrative conflicts. As an accountant and lawyer, he possesses comprehensive knowledge, an invaluable asset when it comes to advising clients on highly sensitive matters. Hugo has had the opportunity to participate and act as legal counsel in different privatization processes, including the privatization and reorganization of Corelca, which was the main generator and transmitter of energy in the Caribbean Coast area and nine (9) electricity distribution companies in the departments of Córdoba, Sucre, Bolívar, Atlántico, Magdalena and La Guajira. Additionally, Hugo provided legal advice to the investment group of the banking consortium, formed by Credit Suisse and Inverlink, which was hired by the Colombian Government to carry out the privatization process of Isagen S.A. E.S.P. He was legal advisor to Teknecon Energy Risk Advisors LLC-TERA for the spin-off of Centro Nacional de Despacho de -ISA- and the structuring of the Bolsa de Opciones y Futuros de Energía Eléctrica. He also provided legal advice to Grupo Lloreda in a Due Diligence process on the company CentrOriente S.A.. As an accountant and lawyer, his multidisciplinary nature has allowed him to be a valuable asset in mergers and acquisitions such as the acquisition of the commercial establishment of Carvajal Empaques S.A. and the assets of Plegacol S.A. by Mayr-Melnhof Packaging International GmbH, as well as advising Iron Mountain Incorporated in the due diligence process and subsequent acquisition of the Colombian companies G4S Data Solutions S.A.S. and G4S.
