Juan Esteban is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with a particular interest in Commercial, Sports, and Intellectual Property Law. He completed a semester of exchange at Esade Law School in Barcelona, where he participated in various courses of the Master’s in International Sports Law.
He has experience in Sports Law, advising professional football clubs in Colombia such as Millonarios, América de Cali, and Junior de Barranquilla, as well as representing professional football players before sports tribunals. His work spans various legal areas, including FIFA and Colombian Football Federation regulations, player contracts and transfer rights, and issues related to labor, commercial, and sports law.
Additionally, he has experience in Intellectual Property, particularly in trademark viability analysis and registration. He joined the Sports and Labor Law team at Muñoz Tamayo & Asociados (MTA) in 2023.
He has also completed several courses, including a Sports Law course at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Cali and the FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management.
